CURRENT SITUATION

Limited and Unreliable Connection

Conventional wireless communication does not work underwater, as radio waves attenuate rapidly in water. Existing acoustic systems are often limited in data rate, range, or reliability and are highly sensitive to environmental conditions.

Dependence on Cables

Due to unreliable wireless links, many underwater operations still rely on cables or tethers for data transmission and control. While effective, these systems restrict mobility, increase setup complexity, and raise operational risk, especially in dynamic or safety-critical environments.

Inefficient and Costly Operations

Limited communication leads to delayed data access, repeated missions, and longer operation times. The lack of reliable wireless connectivity prevents autonomous underwater systems from operating efficiently and increases costs across industrial, scientific, and environmental applications.
